Love Boomerangs & Hummingbird Prayers
Managing the vibration of your thoughts before they take flight!
So much of life is a dance between intention and action.
We decide, we dream, we declare and yet sometimes, we don’t act. Or worse, we act in ways that don’t match the original beauty of our intention. I’ve done this more times than I can count, and for years, I thought it was just poor discipline or lack of motivation.
Then I discovered what Gay Hendricks calls the Upper Limit Problem, an invisible ceiling that stops us from expanding fully into love, joy, success. We trip ourselves up without realising it, often by letting old thought patterns slip into the driver’s seat.
Here’s the thing: every thought is a messenger! It leaves your body’s energy field like a tiny emissary, sometimes as swift as a hummingbird. Ayahuasca once showed me how these thoughts take flight, carrying a frequency into the great cosmic “energy soup” we all live in. If someone or something is vibrating at the same amplitude, they receive it. If not, it simply flies on!
This is why Earl Nightingale’s metaphor of boomerangs resonates so deeply. Every thought and intention we send out returns to us in some form. If we send fear, resentment, or criticism, those vibrations will circle back. If we send love, appreciation, and possibility, those will too.
The law of gestation means there’s a delay between sending and receiving, so the seeds (or hummingbirds, or boomerangs) you release today are the ones that will return later! This isn’t about being perfect or policing every thought; it’s about becoming a conscious sender.
The shift I’m making and inviting you to join is from managing polarity (positive vs negative) to managing vibration. In other words, less about fighting the “bad” and more about amplifying the “true!”
The Love Boomerang Practice
Try this right now, it takes less than 2 minutes
Notice the messenger
Become aware of the thought you’re sending. Is it carrying harmony or harm?Pause & breathe
Place a hand on your heart. Inhale slowly for 4 counts, exhale for 6. This shifts your nervous system into a receptive, coherent state.Choose the payload
If it’s a harmful thought, gently say to yourself:
“I choose to send a love boomerang.”Launch the new bird
Imagine a tiny hummingbird taking off from your chest, carrying love, blessing, or encouragement toward the person, situation, or even yourself.Release & trust
Let it go without tracking it. Trust the field to deliver it in perfect time.
You can do this in the middle of a difficult conversation, while reading the news, or when you catch yourself spiralling into self-criticism. Over time, you’ll find that the energy returning to you feels lighter, warmer, and more aligned with who you truly are.
Because here’s the truth: we’re not just receivers in this universe, we’re constant transmitters. Every thought is a gift you’re sending into the world. The question is, do you want to receive that gift back?
If not, change the messenger.
If yes, send it with love ❤️
